Bean Dye Napkin Set
A set of four rustic and elegant natural dye napkins from Luna Zorro, exclusively for Rancho Gordo.
100% cotton threads are spun, then soaked in black-bean water for up to two weeks, giving them a natural blue/gray hue. From there, threads are dried and mounted onto foot looms and woven by Luna Zorro artisan partners. Once the fabric is woven, it is dismounted from the looms and cut and sewn into napkins.
Dimensions are 18 inches by 18 inches, with fringe.
Produced in San Juan de la Laguna, Guatemala. Black beans are grown throughout the western highlands of Guatemala and are a staple of the Guatemalan diet, which makes our connection to the product origin all the more special.
Luna Zorro partners with artisans in Guatemala to honor traditional weaving. Your purchase supports an economically sustainable business that is committed to wages set by artisans, gender equality, and flexible working conditions.
