The last time I was in New York, I was a stylish young buck of 26, working for a large fashion house and visiting my old high school pal, Raven, who was roomates with Norman Mailer's daughter Kate. It was about the most glamorous time imaginable. I had a short visit but it made a huge impression on me and I swore I'd be back soon.

Of course my bow tie was hand-tied.
Well, when you live in California, it's almost cheaper to go to Europe than New York and I just never seemed to make it back. Until tomorrow when I fly out for my merry Manhattan adventure.
Monday, the 6th, is of course the Rancho Gordo Dinner at Toloache. I believe we'll be sold out by the time you read this, but if you'd like to try and get a reservation, the number is 212/581-1818. I hope you come!
Tuesday I'll be doing Martha Stewart radio from 10am to 11am.
Wednesday is a book signing at the Union Sqaure Greenmarket from 11am to 3pm. Please come say hi! Friday I'll be at Blue Hill at Stonebarns from noon on for a book signing. I also have interviews and lots of other glamorous stuff lined up but I've been in Napa so long that I feel a little like Jed Clampett a-comin' to the big city!
I'll try and blog a little from the road. Wish me luck- I'll need it!
