Caballito de Barro (Clay Shot Cup) Set
Description
Cactus-inspired shot cups for your best tequila or mezcal, handmade in Mexico.
From the women's collective that makes our bean pots in Los Reyes Metzontle. The clay is very special to the region and actually has talc in it. There is no fear of lead as the pieces are unglazed. Instead, they're burnished with quartz rocks.
The caballitos are clay shot cups that look like small cactus and are perfect for a healthy and generous shot of tequila, mezcal, or whatever your poison you prefer. Unlike other items we sell from Los Reyes Metzontle, the caballitos have a darker colored slip on the inside, making them glossier than the simple burnishing on the outside.
The caballitos come in a set of four.
Please note: These items are handmade and there will be variances. That's part of their charm. But if you prefer precision to a more free form style, these probably aren't for you. They range in size, but the average dimensions are 3.5" tall and 2.2" in diameter.

Rancho Gordo-Xoxoc Project
These items are the results of our two companies working together since 2008 to help small farmers and producers continue to grow their indigenous products in Mexico, despite international trade policies that seem to discourage genetic diversity and local food traditions.
Product of Mexico. Produced in Mexico under the supervision of the Rancho Gordo-Xoxoc Project.
