OAXACA for Day of the Dead!
October 27 to November 2, 2010
$2200. One week of non-stop fun and adventure!

Time for a break? Ready for a safe, affordable, fun, southern Mexican vacation—one packed with world-class food, drink and culture?

Oaxaca remains a perfect travel destination. I wouldn’t lie. Promise. Oaxaca is an especially safe Mexican city because it is a major tourism center with strong security. The drug problems you hear about are centered along the U.S.-Mexican border and some seaports, not in Oaxaca City.

Oaxaca is a jewel box of Spanish colonial architecture loaded with restaurants, talented chefs, great marketplaces and top-notch shopping opportunities. Archeological sites are some of the finest anywhere in the world (we visit Monte Alban) and folk art from nearby villages is equal to the best of the best. (Hey, folk art lovers: the dollar is mighty vs. the peso these days—a shopper’s dream.)

I’ve been bringing small groups of 10 people to Oaxaca for over a dozen years for a taste of the most interesting foods in Mexico. With me, you savor Oaxaca’s famous moles, the finest Mexican hot chocolate, delectable and unusual tamales, the largest variety of tortillas in Mexico, ice cream and sorbet flavors enlivened by tropical fruits, sauces and table salsas ground from fresh and dried chiles....in fact, Oaxaca boasts the biggest selection of chiles in the world. We taste everything!! Our small group roams day markets for the most important flavors in the food capital. We dine in casual-to-sophisticated restaurants trying specialties of the region, sampling local favorites, and in capturing the spirit of the important holiday we try our hands at a cooking class of traditional tamales in a Zapotec home.

$2200 +$400 single supplement - Does not include airfare. Includes 7 days, 6 nights hotel (double occupancy), ALL meals (3 per day) when taken with the group, plus all tastings, demos, cooking class, tours, museum/site entrance fees and local tour transportation!
Please visit www.nancyzaslavsky.com for particulars on the tour, and to download an application. Call 310-440-8877.
Thank you!
