I was the first to laugh when I heard that a vegetarian restaurant/yoga studio called ubuntu was coming to Napa. I think I was also quick to admit I was wrong for the chuckles. It's an incredible place and I eat there every chance I get.
Recently, the traveling farm-dinner group, Outstanding in the Field, had one of their al fresco affairs with chef Jeremy Fox and ubuntu and I hear it was great.
Of course there were lots of dishes and I'm sure one was better than the next but my pal Peter Perez from Chronicle Books was nice enough to send me these shots and clearly the most important dish of the evening was the ribollita with our Rancho Gordo yellow eye beans, slow-cooked turnip greens, torn bread with rosemary and chiles. Clearly.
