Here's your lesson for today.

The beans are harvested and mostly cleaned in the field. They hang out in bins and totes until they're ready to be cleaned.

This is a seed cleaner but it's the same concept. There are different screens that capture the beans.

There are still some nasty dirt clods that can get through so a manual cleaning is also needed.

The beans then go into these 50 pound bags and get sent to Rancho Gordo where we transfer them to 25 and 1 pound bags, for wholesale and consumers, respectively.
