Here at Rancho Gordo we have a lot of guests but I really liked giving tours to some of the kids at the CIA up in St Helena. The California campus of the Culinary Institute of America is impressive for many reasons but my favorite aspect is how they get the students out into the community.
The students were from all over the world but my favorite aspect is showing the kids from Mexico how their ingredients changed the world. They know this, but it's nice to hear it from someone else once in a while.
We had two groups last week. One brought me a gluten free poppy seed cake and the other a box of truffles. I'm not sure who to make "teacher's pet" but a few more delicious presents may help me decide!
